It is said that the tunnel engineer Colonel Barog committed suicide because of some miscalculation in joining the two ends. He committed suicide after he was fined one rupee and could not take the insult. After this, the chief engineer Herlington finished the project. Summer hill
Summer hill is the second last station of the route as the train passes from Kalka. The last hill station is Shimla. Summer hill is located in the west of Shimla ridge. Here, one can find the deodar and pine slopes. The father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi had stayed here during his struggle for the Indian independence.
